Here’s a round-up of recent results from around the club. There’s been plenty happening on the competition front over the past few weeks, with strong scores in the club competitions and some encouraging results in interclub. Between the regular Sunday fixtures and the interclub campaigns, it’s been a busy stretch for members across the board, and a good few names worth mentioning.
In the Members’ Competition on Sunday 5th July, Jason McDermott took the win with a strong 43 points, edging out Conor Staines who finished runner-up on 40. A week later, in the V-Par Members’ Competition on Sunday 12th July, the format switched to match play, where Jonathan Murray came out on top 6Up, with Jimmy Lodge runner-up 5Up. Congratulations to both winners, and thanks as always to everyone who came out and played across both weekends.
On the interclub side of things, our Leinster Fourball came to an end in the round of 16 after a hard-fought match against Black Bush Golf Club. It was a strong campaign while it lasted, and the team should be proud of how they represented the club throughout. There was better news in the Tuttenham Cup, though, where a strong win over Slieve Russell in the quarter-finals has set up a semi-final against Edenberry on 16th August, representing a real chance for the team to push on.
More results to follow as the season continues. Best of luck to everyone involved in the Tuttenham Cup semi-final!
