The Scratch Cup is confirmed in the calendar this September. September on this stretch of coast tends to bring some of the calmer, more settled weather of the year, with firmer ground and fewer crowds than the height of summer, before conditions begin to turn breezier once October arrives as the season shifts toward winter. If you’re planning your golf over the coming months, this date is worth getting pencilled in early.
The Scratch Cup runs on Saturday 26th September, split into three divisions, each with their own index limits to enter:
– Senior Scratch Cup – Index 2.7 and lower
– Junior Scratch Cup – Index 2.8 to 9.5
– Intermediate Scratch Cup – Index 9.6 to 18
It’s one of our more competitive open fixtures of the year, drawing a strong field across the three divisions, and a good chance to test your game. Entry is €35 for visitors and €10 for members and pros.
Keep an eye on the website and notice board for when entries open. As always, links golf on the coast this time of year can turn quickly with the weather, so it’s worth checking the forecast and packing accordingly before you head out. We’d love to see a strong turnout, and if you’d like to be first to hear when events like this one open, sign up to our newsletter.
